The Waitrose Centre
The Waitrose Centre forms one of the satellite Centres of the newly formed Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) - part of Lancaster University.
The Waitrose Centre is a joint initiative between the University, Waitrose and its supply chain in Horticulture. The Centre has been developed following the running of successful supply chain training courses which have generated the ideas for areas of R&D and TT which the supply chain feel they cannot easily access elsewhere and will be of commercial benefit to the partnership between Waitrose and the Supply chain.
The aim of the partnership is to identify generic areas of work which can then be undertaken by either reviewing existing literature and or forming new consortia which source external funding to investigate the specific problem areas.
If at any time you want to comment of ask questions please email Dr Mark Bacon, the Waitrose co-ordinator
Horticulture: from science to appliance
