Research Interests
My primary interest is community assembly and the significance of species composition and diversity for ecosystem functioning and ecosystem service provision. I have undertaken research on a broad range of taxa in several ecosystems including hot deserts and tropical and temperate agro-ecosystems (Israel, Vietnam, Philippines, C“te D?Ivoire, Kenya, UK and Italy). I enjoy applying ecological concepts and theory to address problems of environmental and agricultural sustainability, such as biodiversity conservation and ecosystem service provision. Currently my main focus is on the mechanisms underlying functional effects of species diversity in natural enemy communities and how these are influenced by environmental context.
