Research Summary

John leads a research group working on soil erosion and diffuse pollution. The group’s research is focussed on:

  • understanding the mobilisation and transport of contaminants in overland flow;
  • the prediction of the risk of contaminant  transfer to surface waters,
  • tracing the movement of sediment and contaminants; and
  • developing mitigation strategies erosion and diffuse pollution control;
  • landscape scale transfers of carbon;
  • the sustainable management of soil in temperate and semi-arid environment.
