Research Summary
Marion is the Facilitator for the NERC Knowledge Exchange Catchment Change Network (CCN). Her remit involves coordinating activities between the science and user communities, identifying new collaborative research opportunities connected to catchment management and optimising professional development across a range of key science user groups.
Marion trained as a social scientist and has research interests in the geography of education, research with children and young people and working with innovative methodologies. Key projects have included:
- Exploring the school journey using mobile phone, GIS and GPS technology.
- Children, Flood and Urban Resilience: Understanding children and young people's experience and agency in the flood recovery process (Investigating children’s experiences of disaster recovery in Hull).
- Exploring and Expanding the Student Experience Project (Investigating how students can increase their 'employability' whilst broadening their student experience).
