Prior to starting his a post-doctoral research, Nik completed his PhD at Lancaster University in 2006. During his PhD, Nik used numerical computer models to expand on what is known about the dynamic behaviour of trace metals in terrestrial and aquatic environments and published five peer-reviewed journal articles on his research (see Publications below). After graduation Nik worked for two years as an Environmental Consultant at the Manchester office of URS (a multi-national consultancy based in the United States), before returning to Lancaster University.
