REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) is a major piece of legislation concerned with the way chemicals are manufactured, used and managed. The new REACH regulations are highly complex and can be demanding, time consuming and expensive for companies to effectively interpret and implement.

The Centre for Chemicals Management provides scientific advice to support UK, EU and international policy making. It has an established record in providing services to industry.

The Centre for Chemicals Management has developed a series of 1-day training workshops combating REACH and other relating regulatory issues. The programme has been developed with industry needs in mind. Workshops are delivered by REACH experts and senior industry managers with expertise and credibility in the regulatory and chemical sectors. With a focus on clear practical guidance we aim to give companies in the chemical using industries exactly what they need to guide them successfully through REACH.

The Centre for Chemicals Management also offers A Postgraduate Certificate of Competence in REACH Registration, the next delivery of this course will be from July 2009. The qualification is a short modular course ideal for those currently working on REACH or part of a regulatory / health and safety team. The course could also be an important stepping stone for those looking for a career in the regulatory environment.

The REACH training programme at Lancaster University is spear-headed by the masters level ‘Postgraduate Certificate of Competence in REACH Registration’. This Lancaster University accredited course operates throughout the year on a rolling programme.

Development & Delivery

The range of workshops and modules have been developed through collaboration between Lancaster University, senior industry experts and our affiliate companies – including The REACH Centre Ltd and Hammonds LLP.

Our deliverers include leading chemical industry managers, REACH consultants, field specific experts, legal and regulatory specialists and highly esteemed academics.

The Postgraduate Certificate in REACH course runs over three modules each lasting three days.
