UCAS Open Days
We have the following UCAS Open Day dates coming up:
Biology Open Days
All applicants to our degree courses will also be invited to attend one of our Departmental Open-Days. The open-days take place on various afternoons during our term time, so you can see the University in full swing. For those who find a week day afternoon visit a bit difficult to organise, we have three open-days which take place on Saturdays, when we also have additional sessions for students applying to our year abroad courses.
During the open-day you will meet staff and current students and be given information about life at Lancaster and more details about your chosen course. You will also have a guided tour of both the department and campus, given by a current undergraduate student.
Your parents are very welcome to attend the open-day with you and in fact, we have a separate programme for them (because they usually have very different questions to you!). They are also given a guided tour of the department and campus by members of the teaching staff.
We invite applicants for some schemes for informal interviews with a member of academic staff. This will be on a one-to-one basis but it is not a formal process and we like to keep the interviews as relaxed as possible, encouraging you to ask as many questions as you like. Offers are not dependent on attendance at interview. Students in the past have welcomed the opportunity to gain the undivided attention of a lecturer, so they can really get a feel for whether they would like to study here.
